Any life transition is a kind of dying to one’s previous self … an ending and a beginning with a stage of spiritual metamorphosis in between.

 Transition Coaching Services

Any challenge or crisis experience that forces us to confront our resistance to change is a call to wake up to ourself. Each transition in life is a “micro” death to what we believed to be true and are shocked to discover is no longer true. It’s a challenge to our self perception and self identity. It presents us with the unexpected, uninvited opportunity to change who and what we think we are.

Transitions move us kicking and screaming along our life path. The pain and suffering they cause come from our attachment to our previous self conception. It’s a grief that brings us to question everything we thought was true.

We were comfortable, maybe contented, if not happy, with where we were. Now circumstances are forcing us into something new and not experienced before. We don’t like it. We react. We go into resistance, denial, grief. The micro deaths prepare us for the experience of our ultimate death. However we typically don’t perceive these experiences that way. Our death always comes as a surprise. It’s the one thing that’s inevitable and at the same time we think only happens to someone else. Like winning the lottery you’d rather not win.

Getting comfortable with life transition builds resiliency and increases our joy and appreciation of life.

Through life’s transitions, we practice dying to our self conception in order to grow in our human experience.

Events don’t happen “to“ us. They happen “for” us. For the benefit of our personal and spiritual growth.

The choice to step into the flow of your transition is to become your authentic self.
